ESTATE PLANNING AND LIFE CARE
I am too young to think about
a will!
Why should I worry about inheritance tax planning - its
a long way off!
These are comments made by wealthy individuals well into their
40's.
Everyone should have an estate planning strategy which can be
reviewed and modified during their lifetime. Typical review
stages include:
On marriage or Civil Partnership |
On buying a house |
On birth of children |
On family members reaching 18 |
Before family members reach 25 |
On birth of grandchildren |
On sale of business |
On receiving a windfall or inheritance |
On separation or divorce |
On retirement |
On serious illness or infirmity |
On the death of a family member |
Within two years following the death
of a family member |
It is said that inheritance tax is a voluntary tax.
